Originally from Clarksville TN, Emily Jones brings over 16 years of expertise in the financial services industry to the Firm Connect team.
While studying at Indiana University, Emily began working in consumer banking, but it wasn’t until her next role as part of the in-house treasury team for a large Bloomington foundation group where she was first exposed to Treasury Management. Relocating to Indianapolis, she transitioned to the commercial banking arena holding operations, product, and sales positions at a large local community bank before moving to one of the largest banks headquartered in the Midwest. Working her way through the ranks at the strongest capitalized bank in the country, Emily held multiple positions including Vice President and Senior Product Manager for the business line serving the small business, business banking and emerging middle market sales segments. Discovering her passion for developing working capital solutions, she was able to combine her interest in product and technical development with managing both direct and indirect sales channels in a highly competitive growth culture.
Responsible for the strategy, development, and sales production of the National Business Banking Treasury Management Team, Emily had the opportunity to hear the Client’s needs first hand – use this knowledge to adjust the product set and lead the sales team to execute on delivering the solution. Through these meetings she began to see the opportunity to support and enable the community banking market to enhance their solution set. In the post-recession environment, she identified the growing demand for scalable technology that could be customized and integrated to meet the needs of companies of all shapes and sizes. Partnering with best-in-class developers and payroll specialists, Firm Connect was born. Firm began offering out sourced product development, sales consulting, and then it’s own HR & Payroll referral package to enable bankers, engrained within their communities, to be equipped with all the tools the market offers. The early success in this vertical industry led to Firm expanding to support other verticals including other payroll providers & ERP systems which have a similar complexity in their working capital needs. Bringing this extensive background in leading product and sales in a growth organization, Emily is focused on expanding revenue channels for our partners and adding support to our already successful team.
Chief Operating Officer
From Denver, CO, Kirk Oetken brings over 20 years of business administration experience from both the Not-for-Profit Sector and the Payroll Industry to the Firm Connect Team.
Originally pursuing a career in the Not-for-Profit sector, Kirk found that most organizations struggled with simple administrative tasks that would help the organization with day-to-day operations. Parlaying that experience into the business world, Kirk continued to leverage process for performance within the sales arena of the Human Resource and Payroll Industry. Starting his first company at 26, Kirk strengthened his experience within the small and medium sized business market by working with business owners and human resource departments to streamline operations by introducing new processes and technology. In 2007, Kirk started Summit HR and Payroll to move up market, providing resources and technology to larger companies. As CEO of Summit, his vision has been to drive value and excellence to the middle market with new technology.
Teaming up with Firm Connect, Kirk leans on this previous experience to bring new ideas and integrated solutions to our clients and out team. Uniting technology, people, and process defines Kirk’s passion for the banking and payroll industry.
