In 2009, after 10 years in the banking and treasury management industry, Emily Jones accepted a promotion to develop and run the Treasury Management division for the small to mid-size business clients at one of the largest and the best capitalized banks in the Midwest. This opportunity utilized Emily’s product management, operational, and sales experience and was quickly expanded to include vendor management. This role required bringing technology and new development to market, but also re-thinking how to approach the client and prospect base to create new revenue streams, differentiated solutions and delivery, and most importantly reduce attrition.
Driving revenue in a post-recession environment created it’s own challenges. The new landscape included increased credit scrutiny, growing regulatory demands, and the target market was re-thinking every dollar spent – looking for guidance and working capital insight.
Payroll was particularly challenging; approving the ACH (Automated Clearing House) exposure, differentiating in a highly commodotized industry, delivering products the owner needs to protect their company, all while providing a solution special enough that the company would want to switch, all seemed to be too many challenges to overcome. Firm Connect accepted the challenge and have created a solution set that is robust, yet easy to use.
